INOX Air Products and Asahi India Glass Limited Collaborate for Green Hydrogen Supply

Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS), one of India’s leading glass manufacturers, and INOX Air Products (INOXAP), the largest Indian manufacturer of industrial and medical gases, have signed a 20-year supply agreement for green hydrogen at AIS’s floating glass facility in Soniyana, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. This collaboration marks the establishment of India’s first green hydrogen plant for the floating glass industry, paving the way for sustainable glass production.

The green hydrogen plant will have the capacity to produce up to 190 tons of green hydrogen per year through the electrolysis process. Powered by solar energy, the plant is expected to commence operations in July 2024.

Under the agreement, INOXAP will be responsible for the design, engineering, installation, operation, and continuous supply of green hydrogen to the AIS facility for 20 years. In the initial phase, 95 tons per annum (TPA) of green hydrogen will be supplied to AIS.

AIS is committed to sustainability and aims to utilize 94% of its energy requirements from renewable sources at its Soniyana facility.
