GLP Partners with Zscaler for Enhanced Cybersecurity

Author:

Global real estate logistics provider and investment manager, GLP, has chosen Zscaler, the leader in cloud security, to bolster its cybersecurity practices. Recognizing the shortcomings of their legacy security stack built on VPNs, GLP sought a more robust solution to protect their users, data, and applications from increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks.

GLP, founded in 2009, has operations in over 20 countries and is responsible for managing thousands of physical and digital properties worldwide. With such a vast portfolio to safeguard, GLP recognized the need for a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to address the growing challenges of cyber threats.

Miao Song, Global Chief Information Officer at GLP, emphasized the importance of a proactive cybersecurity strategy given the company’s expanding physical and digital footprint. Previous attempts to secure their network and assets using various tools and systems, including VPN, proved ineffective in meeting their goals. Thus, GLP sought a partner capable of implementing a robust Zero Trust strategy, ultimately selecting Zscaler for its expertise and capabilities.

In the initial phase of their Zero Trust transformation, GLP will deploy Zscaler’s Private Access (ZPA) solutions. These solutions will enable GLP staff and third-party vendors to securely access private apps and OT (operational technology) devices. Leveraging Zscaler for Users, GLP and affiliated users will have the advantage of Zero Trust connectivity directly to applications, facilitating efficient management of assets across their hybrid cloud environment globally.

Andreas Hartl, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan at Zscaler, highlighted the increasing severity, frequency, and volume of cybersecurity threats faced by multinational corporations. Zscaler’s commitment to simplifying and accelerating their customers’ security transformation journeys through their Zero Trust Exchange platform positions them as the secure solution partner of choice. Zscaler is delighted to support GLP on their journey to secure their operations globally.

Looking at the current market trends, cybersecurity has become a top priority for businesses worldwide. The rapid digitization of various industries and the rise in remote work have significantly increased the surface area for cyber attacks. As a result, companies are investing heavily in robust cybersecurity solutions to protect their sensitive data and maintain business continuity.

In terms of forecasts, the global cybersecurity market is expected to continue its growth trajectory. According to a report by MarketsandMarkets, the market is projected to reach $248.26 billion by 2023, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.2% during the forecast period. This indicates a strong demand for cybersecurity solutions and services, driven by the need to combat evolving cyber threats.

Despite the advantages of GLP partnering with Zscaler for enhanced cybersecurity, there may be some key challenges or controversies associated with this decision. One potential challenge could be the complexity of implementing Zero Trust strategies across a global organization like GLP. Ensuring secure access to applications and devices while maintaining seamless productivity for users can be a complex task that requires careful planning and execution.

Additionally, there may be concerns about the potential cost of implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity solutions. Cybersecurity investments can be substantial, especially for organizations with a large digital footprint like GLP.
