Discover the Impact: Otter Products’ Annual Day of Giving Back

Author:

Come May 16, Otter Products is set to host its eighth annual day of giving back in partnership with the OtterCares Foundation. The closed2open volunteer event will see all operations at Otter Products paused for one day, allowing employees to make a significant difference in their communities by volunteering with local organizations.

During the closed2open event, Otter Products employees will have the opportunity to volunteer together on a wide variety of projects that support their communities. From park clean-ups to food bank support and school refresh projects, employees will utilize their time and talent to create a lasting impact in their communities across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia.

“At Otter Products, giving back to our communities is at the core of our values,” said OtterBox CEO JC Richardson. “Our closed2open event is an extension of the incredible work our employees do every day in the communities they call home.”

Otter Products has always been committed to making a positive impact by establishing the OtterCares Foundation in 2010. This foundation has provided grant programs aimed at inspiring students to become entrepreneurs and philanthropists. Furthermore, OtterCares facilitates the employee volunteer program at Otter Products, empowering employees to engage in meaningful volunteer work.

To encourage employee engagement, Otter Products offers 24 hours of paid time off for volunteering each year. Since 2011, employees have completed over 148,000 hours of volunteer work, amounting to a value of over $3.8 million. This year alone, 63% of the Otter employee base has already contributed more than 4,300 volunteer hours to their communities.

Moreover, through the OtterCares’ Dollars for Doers (DFD) grant program, employees who complete their 24 hours of volunteer time can earn a donation to their chosen organization. Since its launch in 2014, the DFD program has generated over $870,000 for schools and nonprofits across the United States.

On May 16, join Otter Product employees in making a positive impact in your community by volunteering or donating to your favorite organization. While Otter Products customer service and distribution centers will be temporarily closed, a small delay in some services may occur. Together, let’s continue to inspire change and create a better world.
